About bit-coin.org
Most Bitcoin websites are written by enthusiasts for enthusiasts. They assume you already know what a "hash" is, what "proof of work" means, and why anyone would care about "decentralization."
We think that's backwards. bit-coin.org exists for the person who heard about Bitcoin at dinner and Googled it afterward.
Our Approach
- Plain language. Every concept is explained from the ground up. No assumed knowledge.
- Honest. We cover the risks and downsides, not just the upside. Bitcoin isn't for everyone, and that's okay.
- Practical. We don't just explain — we show you how to take action if you choose to.
- No hype. We're not here to convince you that Bitcoin will replace the dollar. We're here to help you understand it.

Not Financial Advice
Nothing on this site constitutes financial, investment, or legal advice. Bitcoin is a volatile asset, and you should always do your own research and consult a qualified professional before making any investment decisions. Never invest more than you can afford to lose.
