About bit-coin.org
Most Bitcoin websites are written by enthusiasts for enthusiasts. They assume you already know what a "hash" is, what "proof of work" means, and why anyone would care about "decentralization."
We think that's backwards. bit-coin.org exists for the person who heard about Bitcoin at dinner and Googled it afterward.
Our Approach
- Plain language. Every concept is explained from the ground up. No assumed knowledge.
- Honest. We cover the risks and downsides, not just the upside. Bitcoin isn't for everyone, and that's okay.
- Practical. We don't just explain — we show you how to take action if you choose to.
- No hype. We're not here to convince you that Bitcoin will replace the dollar. We're here to help you understand it.
