Last updated: March 10, 2026
bit-coin.org ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Information We Collect
Email Addresses
We are not currently collecting newsletter subscriptions on bit-coin.org. If newsletter signup is re-enabled in the future, we will collect only your email address and process it through Buttondown, subject to Buttondown's privacy policy .
If you have previously subscribed or subscribe after signup is re-enabled, you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email. To request deletion of your data, email us at privacy@bit-coin.org.
Analytics Data
We use Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) to understand how visitors use our
site. Google Analytics collects data such as pages visited, session duration, referral
source, and approximate location via IP address truncation. This data is associated with
randomly assigned client identifiers stored in cookies (_ga, _ga_*) and is used solely for aggregate site analysis.
Google Analytics uses cookies. By using this site you consent to the use of these analytics cookies. You can opt out at any time by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by adjusting your browser's cookie settings. For more information see Google's Privacy Policy .
Cookies and Tracking
Analytics Cookies
Google Analytics sets the following first-party cookies on our domain:
-
_ga— distinguishes unique users; expires after 2 years. -
_ga_G-0H97YQ3ZD6— persists session state; expires after 2 years.
These cookies contain only a randomly generated identifier and do not store personal data directly. You can delete or block these cookies at any time via your browser settings or the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on .
Affiliate Cookies
Some links on this site are affiliate links. When you click an affiliate link and visit a partner site (such as Coinbase, Kraken, Ledger, or others), those sites may set their own cookies to track referrals. These cookies are set by the affiliate partner, not by bit-coin.org. We have no control over, and take no responsibility for, third-party cookies set by affiliate partners.
We earn a commission if you sign up for a service through an affiliate link. This is disclosed at the top of any article containing affiliate links and in our About page.
Infrastructure Cookies
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may set technical cookies necessary for security and performance (e.g., bot detection). These cookies are set by Cloudflare and are governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy .
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Buttondown — Newsletter delivery platform kept available for a future signup relaunch. If signup is re-enabled, subscriber email addresses would be stored on Buttondown's servers in the United States.
- Google Analytics 4 — Website analytics provided by Google LLC. Data may be processed in the United States. See Google's Privacy Policy .
- Cloudflare Pages — Website hosting and content delivery. Cloudflare may process technical data (IP addresses, request headers) for security and performance.

- Send you our Bitcoin newsletter if you voluntarily subscribe after signup is re-enabled
- Understand aggregate usage patterns to improve the site
- Track affiliate referrals for commission purposes
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes. We do not use your data for advertising targeting.
